What you can learn after the shot
Article Archive
In the human brain, that part that controls emotions, developed long before the thinking part.  Emotions are stronger, more primitive.  If you place an emotion with an action, it tends to be remembered for a long time.

How this relates to golf; if you get angry after a bad shot, and berate yourself, you tend to remember the shot and the negative emotion that goes with it.  Your mind is storing bad stuff, bad feelings about your game.

Likewise, if you hit a really good one, and celebrate, or smile to yourself, that positive feeling also is remembered.

Folks, you have a choice; to feel good about your game or to feel bad about your game.

So next time out, appreciate the good ones, hold your finish a little longer, and watch the ball until it stops rolling.  Give yourself a silent pat on the back.

And when you hit a poor shot?  Say to yourself 'How unlike me', or 'Very interesting'.  Or you could watch the shot as if your buddy hit it, not you.  This takes discipline, but if you will give it time and make it a habit, your game will improve and you will surely enjoy it more
